大阪の都心（繁華街）は、多層構造になっている。
大阪の下道の道幅は名古屋よりも狭いが、その分、道幅の広い大規模な高速道路が都心のあちこちに通っている。

名古屋の場合は、下道の道幅は広いけれど、名古屋の都心にはあまり高速道路がない。そのせいで名古屋の都心の街並みは平面的で躍動感がない作りになってしまっている。大阪のような大都会の雰囲気もあまりない。

階数：地上2階、地下2階（1号館、10号館）、地上3階、地下2階（2号館）、地上4階、地下2階（3 - 9号館）
用途：店舗、事務所、駐車場
備考：中央大通の建設当時、移転交渉は元の地価の高さから補償問題で難航していた。そこに小林茂喜という実業家が「利用できる面積が減らなければよいのだろう」と道路の直下にビルを造るアイデアを出し、名案として即座に採用が決まったものである。
