　ウェブサイトで広く使われているプログラミング言語「PHP」で重大な欠陥が見つかり、運営団体は21日午後11時（日本時間）に修正プログラムを配布すると発表した。
　独立行政法人「情報処理推進機構（IPA）」は利用企業などに対して、速やかな対応を呼びかけている。

WordPress powers 40.1% of all websites in October 2026, making it the most widely used content management system in the world. What started as a basic blogging tool in 2003 now serves as the backbone for everything from personal blogs to enterprise platforms used by some of the biggest brands on the planet.

What Percentage of Websites Use WordPress?

As of October 2026, 40.1% of all websites globally use WordPress, according to W3Techs.

To put that 40.1% in perspective: the next closest platform is Shopify at 5.4%, followed by Wix at 4.2%. WordPress has more than seven times the market share of its nearest competitor.

How Many Websites Use WordPress?

Roughly 37.3 million active websites run on WordPress, according to BuiltWith. Broader estimates reach as high as 599 million when every registered hostname is counted, but that upper figure is a theoretical ceiling, not a count of working sites.

The upper estimate is based on NetCraft’s July 2026 web survey, which counted 1.49 billion hostnames across the internet. Applying WordPress’s 40.1% market share (as reported by W3Techs) gives roughly 599 million. One caveat matters here: W3Techs measures that share across the top 10 million sites, so it doesn’t transfer cleanly to the full hostname population, which is why we treat 599 million as a ceiling rather than an estimate.

However, the exact number depends heavily on how you define a “website.” NetCraft counts all hostnames, including parked domains, staging sites, and domains with no active content. When looking strictly at active, functioning websites, the numbers are more specific. BuiltWith, which tracks technology usage across actively visited web properties, currently lists the number of live WordPress sites at roughly 37.3 million.

The real number of functioning WordPress websites sits much closer to the 37.3 million baseline than to the 599 million ceiling. Regardless of which metric you prefer, the conclusion is the same: WordPress runs on more websites than any other platform by a wide margin, even as its share has dipped slightly.

These numbers are corroborated by independent data. The HTTP Archive’s 2025 Web Almanac, which uses a completely different measurement methodology than W3Techs, found that CMS-driven sites now account for over 54% of all observed websites, with WordPress powering 64.3% of those CMS-driven sites on mobile. The difference comes down to how each source defines and samples websites, but both confirm the same conclusion: WordPress holds a commanding lead.

It’s also worth noting that 31.5% of websites still operate without a recognized CMS, either hand-coded or using custom solutions. But among the sites that do choose a CMS, WordPress’s lead is overwhelming. Shopify, its nearest rival in the CMS-only comparison, holds just 7.8%, less than one-seventh of WordPress’s share.

One stat that underscores WordPress’s enterprise reach: among the top 10,000 websites by traffic, WordPress accounts for roughly 51% of CMS usage. Platforms like Wix and Shopify are almost absent at this traffic level, while Drupal, with just 0.6% overall market share, holds 6-7% among the top 10,000, reflecting its strength with large institutional sites.

PHPはWebサイト用のスクリプト言語です
いまスクリプト言語でもプログラミング言語でも同じようなものですけど
昔ネットの始まった頃のPerlのさらにWeb特化版みたいなものです
PerlかPHPかくらいの古い話です
それでもPHPは今も進化して立派な大人になってます

プログラミングはCやC++はまだまだ主流です
Rustがそこに変わろうとしてますがまだ
LinuxカーネルはRustで書かれ始めたらしいです

やってるフリは上手ですよね

phpで処理されるURLが一つあるだけでその中身によらず突かれる脆弱性だから騒がれてるんだよ

PHP 8.1, 8.0 and 7.4 security fix for CVE-2026-109618: options for end-of-life versions

There is no official PHP 8.1, 8.0 or 7.4 release that fixes CVE-2026-109618, because those branches are end of life and the PHP project no longer ships updates for them.

As our PHP security update guide explains, your three options are a backported package from your Linux distribution or LTS vendor, the minimal source backports from the PHP security team, or an upgrade to PHP 8.2 or newer.

サーバ側でphp入れてあるだけで、使用の有無関係なしにアウトだからなw

これってWPで作ってるサイトのphpバージョンを更新するだけでいいの？

古いバージョンのサポートを打ち切る口実ができたという見方もある
