Small scale production now
Dear SlimQ F100 backers,

We are in the middle of getting a small batch production done (50 units) this week, following the same mass-production procedures. After that, the plan is to do more testing using the completed units and also get more outsiders (friends and some professional users) to try them so we can see how well the chargers work in real case scenarios. Hopefully, we can discover more problems and fix them before we move to mass production. We expect to start shipping in the second half of September. Again, we apologize for the delay and inconvenience it caused.

Last week we also fixed a few problems including a small buzz noise that can be heard by young fellows. The charger was making little buzz noise when the charge load was as low as a few watts. Our engineers working on this charger are all more than 40 years old and they don't hear the noise. So the buzz noise problem was not noticed until a young lab technician did a round of thorough testing. It took a while to tackle the problem but now it seems quite contained now. A little background info, all electronic devices make noises, it’s just a matter of whether a human being can hear it or not. The noise may be too small or out of the human's hearing range.

We also understand many of our backers are wondering why it has been taking a long time to develop this product, especially given the team’s track record. The team had three successful projects on Kickstarter and Indiegogo and all were delivered on time. This project, however, is a different story. There are reasons. For now, we want to hold listing the reasons because we don’t want to look like we are making excuses. After we get this product delivered in the near future, we can start to tell people what we have gone through.

Again, we appreciate your great support and patience.

Regards,

The SlimQ Team
